Originally designed for Bristol Light Festival in 2022, Swing Song has become a much loved icon of the festival programme. After over a million swings, the installation has been rebuilt to be bigger and brighter – to debut in Bristol before going on tour in 2025. Each swing controls a different musical element, swing low for ambient beats, or high for a crescendo.

We’ve listened to feedback from last year that, at peak times during the festival, the queue for the swings can be too long for some of our audiences. There are now two ways to experience Swing Song – you can still play on the swings for free by joining the normal queue, but this year we will also be trialling a limited number of fast track tickets for the opening weekend which will be available for booking online up until two hours before the festival opens each evening.
Fast track tickets include a 5-minute slot for up to 4 people on 1 swing for £6.50 (+ booking fee). All Fast track tickets must be booked in advance.
